Frequently Asked Questions

Do parents stay involved?

Yes. I encourage open communication with both athletes and parents, particularly for younger athletes. The level of involvement can be tailored to suit the family's preferences and the athlete's age.

Is this only for talented athletes?

Not at all. Coaching is designed for young athletes who enjoy endurance sport and want to improve through structured, age-appropriate training.

How much contact do you have with my child?

Most communication takes place through parents (for younger athletes) or inclusively with older teenagers using email and/or TrainingPeaks messaging. Communication is always professional, appropriate and focused on supporting the athlete's development. We’ll discuss this together to ensure it is appropriate for the child and parent/caregiver.

What sports do you coach?

I currently coach athletes involved in running, cross country, road racing and orienteering, with training tailored to the specific demands of each sport.
